A Pain Management Specialist Who Understands

Expert Pain Medicine & Medical-Legal Evaluation

Thoughtful Evaluation. Clear Answers. A Treatment Plan Built Around You.

Living with pain can be frustrating, exhausting, and isolating. Many patients come to Prestige Pain & Trauma Institute after months or years of unanswered questions, short-term relief, or treatments that did not fully address the source of their symptoms.

Our goal is to make the next step feel clearer.

Led by Dr. Martin, our experienced pain management specialist, Prestige Pain and Trauma Institute provides advanced care for acute pain, chronic pain, spine conditions, nerve pain, joint injuries, and persistent symptoms after surgery or trauma.

We take the time to understand how your pain started, how it affects your daily life, and which treatments you have already tried. From there, we develop a structured care plan based on your diagnosis, medical history, functional goals, and individual needs.

Meet Dr. Martin, M.D., QME

Dual Board-Certified in Pain Medicine and Emergency Medicine

Dr. Martin is a dual board-certified physician in Pain Medicine and Emergency Medicine. He completed his interventional pain fellowship at Harvard Medical School through Massachusetts General Hospital and Brigham and Women’s Hospital.

His advanced training allows him to bring the diagnostic discipline of emergency medicine to complex acute and chronic pain conditions. He has particular experience evaluating traumatic injuries involving the spine, joints, and peripheral nerves.

Dr. Martin’s approach was also shaped by his service as a U.S. Air Force emergency medicine physician. In that environment, accuracy, accountability, and sound clinical judgment were essential. He brings those same principles to his work as a pain management specialist today.

Rather than focusing only on where it hurts, Dr. Martin works to identify the structure, nerve, or condition most likely causing the symptoms before recommending treatment.

His philosophy is straight forward:

  • Listen carefully
  • Evaluate thoroughly
  • Treat responsibly

By combining modern pain medicine with clear communication and measurable goals, Dr. Martin helps patients work toward improved function, greater stability, and a better understanding of their condition.

Patient Stories

Pain Management That Starts With Listening

Pain is personal. Two patients with discomfort in the same area may have entirely different conditions and require different treatment plans.

That is why our approach does not begin with a one-size-fits-all recommendation. It begins with listening.

Your evaluation may include:

  • A detailed review of your symptoms and medical history
  • A focused physical examination
  • Review of previous imaging, procedures, and medications
  • Discussion of how pain affects sleep, movement, work, and daily life
  • Additional diagnostic testing when needed
  • A clear explanation of your treatment options

Our team wants you to understand what may be causing your symptoms, why a treatment is being considered, and what you can realistically expect from the next step.

What You Can Expect From Your Visit

It is normal to feel uncertain before meeting with a pain management specialist. You may wonder whether your concerns will be taken seriously, whether a procedure will be recommended immediately, or whether your previous treatment history will be considered.

Your visit is designed to provide clarity, not pressure.

1

Review Symptoms & Medical History

You will discuss where your pain is located, how it feels, when it started, what makes it worse, and what helps. Dr. Martin will also review prior diagnoses, medications, procedures, surgeries, injuries, imaging, and other relevant health information.

2

Focused Physical
Evaluation

Your evaluation may include a physical exam and a discussion of whether additional imaging, records, or diagnostic steps are needed to better understand your condition and confidently recommend next steps.

3

Personalized
Recommendations

After reviewing your condition, Dr. Martin will discuss treatment options that may be appropriate for your specific situation. You will leave with a better understanding of what may be causing your pain and what the next step in care may look like.

Advanced Pain Care With a Responsible Approach

Prestige Pain & Trauma Institute combines diagnostic evaluation with a broad range of interventional and non-surgical treatment options.

Our approach focuses on:

  • Improving function, not simply masking symptoms
  • Coordinating care when multiple providers are involved
  • Helping patients understand the benefits and limitations of treatment
This diagnosis-first approach allows our pain management specialist to build a plan around the individual patient rather than applying the same treatment to every condition.
