Prestige Pain & Trauma Institute provides regenerative medicine evaluation with a primary focus on platelet-rich plasma, or PRP, for selected joint, tendon, ligament, soft-tissue, and musculoskeletal pain conditions. Treatment recommendations are based on the diagnosis, affected structure, imaging when appropriate, prior care, overall health, and individual goals.
Regenerative treatments are not appropriate for every patient or every source of pain. A focused evaluation helps determine whether PRP or another confirmed regenerative option may be appropriate.
We commonly evaluate patients experiencing:

Orthobiologic treatment options may include:
Platelet-rich plasma, or PRP, is prepared from a sample of the patient’s own blood. The platelets are concentrated and then injected into the targeted joint under image guidance when appropriate.
Whether these treatments are available and appropriate depends on the joint involved, diagnosis, severity of degeneration, medical history, applicable regulations, and clinical judgment.
The goal is to provide a targeted treatment option based on the patient’s condition. Orthobiologic injections cannot reverse every form of arthritis and should not be presented as a guaranteed alternative to surgery.

Tendons and ligaments can become painful after an acute injury, repetitive stress, overuse, or gradual tissue degeneration. Symptoms may include localized pain, tenderness, weakness, stiffness, or difficulty returning to normal activity.
Treatment options may include:
PRP may be considered for selected tendon, ligament, and soft-tissue conditions based on the affected structure, imaging findings, prior care, and individual treatment goals. Adipose-derived orthobiologic options may also be discussed in selected cases.
Image guidance helps the provider visualize the injured area and place treatment accurately near the targeted tendon, ligament, or soft tissue.

Treatment options may include:
Because pain near the spine or pelvis can come from discs, facet joints, the sacroiliac joint, ligaments, muscles, or irritated nerves, diagnostic injections may be used to help clarify which structure is contributing to the symptoms.
Orthobiologic treatment may then be discussed when the diagnosis, imaging, previous treatment response, and overall clinical picture support that approach.

Depending on the targeted structure, procedures may use:
The type of guidance used will depend on the anatomy, diagnosis, and planned treatment.

Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapy is a regenerative medicine approach that uses a concentrated portion of your own blood to support the body’s natural healing response. PRP may be considered for certain joint, tendon, ligament, and other musculoskeletal conditions when conservative care has not provided enough relief.

PRP is prepared by drawing a small amount of the patient’s blood and processing it to concentrate platelets and other naturally occurring components involved in tissue repair. The resulting platelet-rich plasma is then injected into the targeted area as part of an individualized treatment plan.
PRP may be considered for patients experiencing conditions such as:
Whether PRP is appropriate depends on the specific diagnosis, severity of the condition, overall health, and treatment goals.
PRP uses material obtained from the patient’s own blood and is intended to support the body’s natural healing processes. Results can vary based on the condition being treated, its severity, and individual patient factors. PRP does not guarantee tissue regeneration or complete pain relief, and improvement may occur gradually rather than immediately.
PRP may be an option for some patients with persistent musculoskeletal pain or injuries who have not achieved adequate improvement with treatments such as activity modification, physical therapy, medications, or other conservative measures. A thorough evaluation is necessary to determine whether PRP is appropriate for your condition.

We may ask about:
Your provider may also evaluate range of motion, strength, stability, tenderness, and signs that a joint, tendon, ligament, or other soft tissue is involved.
From there, we can discuss whether PRP, another orthobiologic option, a conventional injection, rehabilitation, or a different treatment approach may be appropriate.
Not every joint, tendon, ligament, spine, or SI-related condition is a good candidate for orthobiologic treatment. The procedure selected should be based on an established diagnosis rather than symptoms alone.
Our approach focuses on:
You do not have to decide on an orthobiologic procedure without first understanding the diagnosis, available evidence, possible limitations, and other treatment choices. A focused evaluation can help determine which approach may best fit your condition and goals.
